Strengths and Strategies

To us, success means delivering superior returns to our shareholders. We actively promote individual and corporate responsibility and reward outstanding performance. Our goal is to consistently grow reserves, production, and cash flows by pursuing four key strategies:

Aggressively Develop our Niobrara Oil Shale Acreage
We hold approximately 29,000 net acres prospective for the development of Niobrara Oil Shale in the Greater Wattenberg Field in Weld County, Colorado. We hold an additional 33,000 net acres in the North Park Basin. We and other operators in the region are applying horizontal drilling and multi-stage fracture stimulation techniques to enhance recoveries and economic returns.

Increase Production from Existing Low-Cost Proved Inventory
We will continue drilling our proved vertical locations in southern Arkansas and the Greater Wattenberg Field. Substantially all of these infill locations are characterized by multiple productive horizons.

Pursue Accretive Acquisitions
We intend to pursue bolt-on acquisitions in areas where we operate and where we believe we possess a strategic or technical advantage. In addition, we intend to focus on other oil and liquids-rich opportunities where we believe our operational experience will enhance the value and performance of acquired properties.

Maintain High Degree of Operatorship
We operate approximately 99% of our existing proved reserves and we have an average working interest in our properties of approximately 86%. We intend to maintain operational control over our assets, thereby allowing us to leverage our technical, operating and management skills and control the timing of our capital expenditures.
