In May 2006, we formed Bonanza Creek Energy Company to facilitate institutional funding from D. E. Shaw & Co. From 2006 to 2010, BCEC completed 15 significant transactions ultimately amassing the portfolio we operate today with unconventional oil shale and long life proved reserves. In December 2010, we were recapitalized and consolidated under Bonanza Creek Energy, Inc. with funding from an investor group led by West Face Capital, Inc. One year later, we listed on the NYSE with the ticker symbol BCEI. We currently have over 100 employees based in three regional offices: Denver, Houston, and Bakersfield.
